Gall bladder flush – stones or emulsified fats?
There is a Malaysian company that created a product that claims to help in getting rid of gall stones without the need for surgery. These kits are also sold in several health food shops in Singapore.
This method involves taking apple juice, olive oil, and lemon juice. I knew someone who did and eventually got infected and died. I also witnessed a patient of mine who had gall bladder surgery and contracted stage 4 liver cancer a month later. This is why post-surgery wound healing herbs are so important. Saint Hildegard of Bingen, the 12-century herbalist and mystic taught this 900 years ago.
It is an outdated naturopathic treatment. Several analyses of passed stones have been evaluated and found that they consisted predominately of fatty acids and contained no cholesterol, bilirubin, or calcium – suggesting that the so-called gall stones are actually emulsified fat, ‘created by the interaction of digestive enzymes with certain components of olive oil and lemon juice.’ ( Gaby, A.R., 2009).
Even If this treatment can help some of you, then it might also cause stones to become trapped in the already weak common bile duct, leading to a medical emergency. How do you whether you have a weak bile duct? Can you take the risk?
